Already have clients, but find you’re still not making as much money as you’d like?
In this post, I’m going to share with you 10 ways you can make more money from your existing clients…so rather than running around trying to find MORE clients, you can offer even more value to your existing ones!
10 Ways to Get More Money from Existing Clients
1. Offer a New Service
As a service-based business owner, it’s easy to get stuck in the rut of offering only a few core services.
However, if your clients enjoy working with you, they’ll probably LOVE it if you offer some other ways to work with you.
- Offer consulting or coaching services
- Add services that complement existing ones (e.g., add keyword research to your writing services)
- Learn a new skill and create a new service around it
2. Promote a Higher-Ticket Service
If you already offer services at a variety of price points, this is a no-brainer. And if you don’t? It’s time to start!
Contact existing customers and let them know about other services or packages you offer – ones at a higher price point. 3. Cross Promote with Another Business
Partner up with a complementary business in your niche to cross-promote each other’s services.
Here’s an example. Let’s say you currently offer virtual assistant services. Your clients often ask you for recommendations for web designers, and up until now you’ve simply recommended someone off the top of your head.
Reach out to your favorite web designer, and ask if he or she would be interested in cross-promoting each other’s businesses. This means you would recommend their business when someone needs a web designer, and they would recommend your business when someone needs a VA. It’s a win-win!
4. Hold a Flash Sale
If you need cash – NOW – promoting a time-limited promotion is a great way to get more money from existing clients.
This could be something like:
- “Book this week and receive a complementary 60-minute consultation”
- “Today only, all services 25% off”
- “Pre-pay for a 6-month package today and get an extra month free”.
While I would be careful how often you offer these types of deals, it can be a great way to make cash on command…right when you need it!
5. Bundle Existing Services
This one simply means re-packaging up your existing services into new formats or bundles.
For instance, if you already offer personal financial planning, bookkeeping services, and money mindset coaching, why not package all of these services up into one offering?
In this way, you’re not adding anything new to your offerings: you’re simply giving existing clients a way to get help in all these areas, all at once!
6. Find Relevant Affiliate Products to Promote
If you frequently recommend products to your clients, why not make some extra money doing it?
For instance, if you’re a web designer, you probably frequently recommend web hosting companies to your clients….and most web hosting companies offer affiliate programs. For example, I have a blog post on my site How to start a blog in 30 Minutes or Less. In that blog, I recommend Blue Host as a web hosting company. I also have an affiliate partnership with them.
This means that every time someone purchases web hosting through my recommendation, I receive a commission.
Just be sure you’re really up front that you’re an affiliate when you do make recommendations! What an easy way to make money from your existing clients!
7. Create a Membership Site
Want to help your existing clients meet their goals, while also making guaranteed, recurring income for yourself?
A membership site is a great way to do this!
Your membership site can be a way for your existing clients to:
- Get access to a library of tools and resources that can help them
- Connect with one another through a private Facebook group or forum
- Learn from you via regular members-only webinars or Facebook Lives
- Get discounts on your other services (e.g., “Join the membership and get 25% off my coaching services”)
8. Create an Online Course
Similar to #7, creating an online course allows you to help your existing clients – as well as new ones – without burning yourself out offering only one-on-one services.
What problems do your clients frequently come to you with?
What questions do they ask, again and again?
Create an online course that answers these questions, and then promote it to make more money from your existing clients whenever you need to make cash on command…as in, right NOW!
9. Stay in Touch

Stay top of mind by regularly staying in touch with them. Do this through sending regular email newsletters, posting on social media and checking in with them individually via phone or email.
This way, the next time they need the services you offer, it’s YOUR business that comes to mind!
Yep…this is exactly what it sounds like.
Ask your existing clients what they need help with. Let them know about all the services you offer, and ask them if they would like to book some additional sessions or services.
Since you already have a proven track record of being able to help them, they’re much more likely to take you up on your offer than someone who doesn’t know you.
And since people are busy and usually wait until the last minute to ask for help, your clients will appreciate that you’re helping them before they find themselves in a pickle!
Why pound the pavement looking for new business when you can get more money from existing customers??
They already know and love you, meaning they’ll more than likely be happy for the extra help.
And because you’re not out there looking for new clients, you can invest more time and energy into helping the ones you already have!
